Ontario International Development Agency’s priorities are poverty reduction, democratic governance, health, basic education, equality between women and men, and environmental sustainability. These are the areas in which OIDA Canadian volunteers expertise make a difference. OIDA continuously monitor progress of the projects and provide financial support to achieve ultimate goals. As a part of monitoring process Dr. Neville Hewage, President and CEO and group of volunteers visited the Reaching the Unreached, Tamil Nadu, India, Child and Youth Development Centre, Galle, Sri Lanka and "Uthayam" Dawn visually impaired People Vocational Training Centre, Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. OIDA volunteers also visited the Hari Children's Home in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. Tracey Duguay, Associate Editor of Northernlife Newspaper also joined with humanitarian mission and report back to Canadian how their support make difference in the world.
