The Sudbury Irish Arts Association (SIAA) is
one of over 600 branches of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann worldwide.
Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann can be loosely translated as "Association of
Irish Musicians" and it is Ireland's premiere cultural group. The aims of
Comhaltas is to promote the Irish traditions of dance, music and song. In
doing so, Irish language, literature, art and folk traditions just
naturally become a part of a person's exploration of Ireland's rich
cultural traditions. The organization is non-political and non-religious
in nature, seeking to help you get in touch with the Irish within you or
just to learn more about Ireland's cultural traditions.
SIAA has organized weekly classes in Irish
dancing, singing and language for children and adults alike. During March,
SIAA hosts the Irish Celtic Fair (5 hrs. of non-stop live entertainment).
In August, a one week Irish Summer School for the youth is held. For more
information about Comhaltas in Sudbury or around the world please contact SIAA
